About Prof. Roy Dean

Professor Dean’s videos on YouTube have inspired a generation, and his instructional library has taught people around the world the mysteries of jiu jitsu.

Dean’s martial education is well rounded, holding first degree black belts in Kodokan Judo and Aikikai Aikido, a third degree black belt in Japanese Jujutsu, and a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  He continues to be a student of Roy Harris (6th dan), and is recognized as a black belt by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), with affiliated academies around the world. Kristiansand Kampsport Senter is his representative Academy in Norway.

Our Academy

The have one of the largest Academies in south Norway, our BJJ room has a 280 m2 of Dollarmur tatami, so we have space for a lot of people. We have changing rooms with showers for male and female. We also have a shop that sells equipment and a few beverages.

In our Academy everyone

• Uses a Rashguard.
• Changes in the locker room, not on the mat.
• Wears a clean uniform with no holes.
• Washes there hands before the class.
• Wears shoes to the toilet.
• Practices good personal Hygiene.
• Helps each other.
• Smiles.

WHERE TO STAY

We have made a really good deal with the 2 Thon Hotels in Kristiansand, both hotels are newly renovated. Park Hotel is a boutique hotel, and Hotel Norge is a bit bigger.
Both hotels i center of town, with easy access to everything. Walking distance from the ferry and easy bus connection to the airport.
Our Academy is 6 minutes away by car or taxi. Our tough Danish friends usually do a quick 20 minute walk to or from our Academy. We usually manage to organize for some of our team to pick you up and take you back to the hotel.

By plane
The Airport is in Kristiansand, the name of the airport is Kjevik- it is about 15 mins from the hotel and training facility.

By Ferry 
You can take a ferry

• From Hirtshals in Northern Denmark, directly to the port of Kristiansand. Superspeed takes 2, 5 hours.
