Sommerleir- Martial Arts Summer camp

5 May- 7 June 2024

"Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own." - Bruce Lee

As martial artists, it is crucial to expand our horizons and explore different styles and training methods. By trying other styles, we can gain a deeper understanding of the martial arts as a whole, and become more well-rounded practitioners.

In the words of Dan Inosanto, "There are many paths to the top of the mountain, but the view is always the same." Whether you practice karate, taekwondo, or another style, there is always more to learn and explore.

Training in other places also allows us to experience different cultures and training environments. We can learn from other instructors and practitioners, and gain new perspectives on our own practice. This is essential for personal growth and development as a martial artist.

At the end of the day, the martial arts are about self-improvement and personal growth. By trying other styles and training in other places, we can push ourselves to new heights and become the best possible versions of ourselves. So let's embrace the journey and continue to learn and grow together.

Welcome to Kristiansand, Norway

Since 2009, our Summer Camp – "Sommerleiren" – has been a magnet for martial artists from across the world. It is a camp for Kids and for adults. Bring your family.
No matter if you train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Kickboxing, Kali, Taekwondo, Ju-Jutsu, Muay Thai, or anything else – you’re welcome here.

You can be a white belt or a world-class instructor.
This camp is about training hard, learning from each other, and going home with something real.

What Makes This Camp Special?

We design the camp around the three fundamental combat ranges:

🥋 Grappling range – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and close control
🥊 Striking/kicking range – boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai
🗡️ Weapons range – sticks, knives, swords (Kali and related arts)

Every training session, you’ll see 3–4 different classes running simultaneously – each covering a different range or focus. You decide what you want to train – right there and then.
Feeling curious about weapons? Jump in. Want to deep-dive into the clinch game? Go for it.
You choose your own training path each day.

No sign-up lists. No pressure. Just show up on the mat when the class starts.

The Instructors

We only bring in instructors with:

  • Broad experience across styles – they know how to connect the dots

  • Real teaching skills – no egos, no lectures, just effective and inspiring instruction

  • A mindset of openness and exchange

They’re here to share – not to show off.
They teach with you, not at you.

Every instructor here sees value in learning from everyone – regardless of style, affiliation, or belt color. And that’s the vibe we protect.

Kids in the Morning. Adults in the Afternoon.

The camp is split into two parts:

👧 Children & Youth Camp (Morning sessions)
Kids are grouped by age and rotate through different topics and instructors across 6 x 45-minute sessions over the weekend. They train, grow, and have a blast.

🧑‍🦱 Adult Camp (Afternoon sessions)
This is where the full spectrum of martial arts comes alive.
Choose your own adventure: grappling, striking, weapons – switch it up or stay focused. No judgement. Just good people and good training.

Train Smart – Not to Exhaustion

Ever been to a camp where you're so fried at the end, you can’t even remember what you learned?

We don’t do that.

With years of experience, we’ve found the sweet spot: 3 hours a day. That’s it. Focused, high-quality training you’ll actually remember – with energy left to enjoy the city, connect with people, or just relax.

8 hours total over 3 days
✅ No burnout. Just better training.

Train hard. Learn smart. Live more.

Beyond the Training

Kristiansand is one of Norway’s most beautiful coastal cities. Clean air, blue sea, small beaches, island hopping, fresh seafood and that laid-back Scandinavian vibe.
Between sessions, you’ll get a taste of it all – or just chill with new friends and talk shop.

And speaking of friends…

This camp is where lifelong martial arts connections are made.
You’ll leave with more than sore muscles and new techniques – you’ll leave with fresh motivation, new ideas, and people you’ll still be talking to in five years.

This Camp Is for You If…

  • You’re curious and open-minded

  • You’re tired of tunnel vision and want to see what’s out there

  • You want to train hard and learn smart

  • You value respect, variety, and great people

  • You believe martial arts should be about growth, not division

You In?

Whether you’re here to level up your BJJ, sharpen your striking, swing a stick or swordfor the first time – we got you.
Come train. Come learn. Come be part of something that’s about more than belts and titles.

You’ll leave with:
✅ Better skills
✅ New perspectives
✅ New friendships
✅ And a renewed fire to train

See you in Kristiansand. Bring your gi. Or don’t. Just bring your mindset.

Still have questions? We’ll answer them. Otherwise – just book your ticket and start stretching.
